How Presto Stockist Map Works

Presto Stockist Map enables automatically updating a stockist map with detailed information about which products each stockists is likely to have in stock.

How data gets onto the map

The data shown on the stockist map relies on syncing your sales data from Xero (no other accounting/sales system is currently supported). This is combined with data specified by you in the setup process, which consists of stockist locations and product metadata.

Data from Xero

Presto syncs your sales Invoices and Contacts from Xero. Presto is updated with any changes and new data from Xero within 30 minutes.

Presto product data

Presto needs to know a bit more about your products than what is contained directly in Xero.

A key data point here for each product is how many days a product will be considered to be stocked (at your customer's store) after the invoice date. You set this to your estimate of how long the product is usually kept on the shelf before either selling out or reaching it's shelf life.

See Manage Products for how to setup this information.

Stockist location data

Exact locations for each stockist need to be set up in Presto. Each Xero customer Contact can have one or more location(s).

See Manage Stockists for a guide to adding locations.

Product and customer example

info
  • Products with no active stockists are not shown in the map filter
  • Stockists with no stocked products are not shown on the map

Here's how these come together on the map:

  1. You have set up Product Z to show on the map for 20 days after purchase.

    • It will not show on the map filter unless at least one customer has purchased it in the last 20 days
  2. Customer A has not purchased Product Z before

    • It will not show as stocked by them on the map
    • If they have no (other) stocked products, Customer A will not show up at all
  3. Customer A purchases Product Z for the first time on March 1st

    • The product will now show for them for the next 20 days, through to March 21st
    • If they purchase it again, it will show for another 20 days
    • If they don't purchase it again
